DISB and Cryptocurrency

Last summer, I worked for DISB (Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking) in Washington DC a conversation was started about cryptocurrency. In DC, there are ATM machines that will convert your actual US money into a variety of cryptocurrency options. DISB was trying to figure out a way to inform the citizens of the city about the issues of cryptocurrency. I created the images below as both a bit of humor and to point out the misunderstandings about this “new” form of money. The point of the images below was to convey that the “new money” was not actually real. That people cannot actually touch or hold it, unlike actual money that can be held. It is just a series of 1’s and 0’s just like much of the internet.
In the end, the agency decided to hold off on making any decision on the path to take.

Time for a fun quiz
