NAICS stands for North American Industry Classification
System) which are codes that companies use working in the Federal Contracting
World. Now the numeric codes have different
standards attached to them, each identifying the level of work to be completed.
These codes are often used as part of responding to RFIs (Request for
Information) and RFPs (Request for Proposal). Some of the larger governmental
companies like Lockheed Martin, General Dynamic, and Leidos, Northrop Grumman,
and others.
